BIOGRAPHY

Freddy Ovett, born on January 16, 1994, in Scotland, is an Australian professional cyclist known for his success in road, gravel, and virtual racing. Son of Olympic gold medalist Steve Ovett, he initially pursued middle-distance running, winning national junior titles before transitioning to cycling after an injury.

Since turning pro in 2016, Ovett has raced for BMC Racing Team, Israel Cycling Academy, and L39ION of Los Angeles. His notable results include 2nd at the 2018 Tour de Okinawa and 9th overall in the 2019 Tour de Langkawi. He also embraced virtual racing, finishing 8th in the 2020 UCI Esports World Championships and earning silver in 2022.

In 2022, Ovett shifted focus to gravel racing, competing in top events like Unbound Gravel and the Gralloch. An endurance athlete at heart, he has also completed marathons, with a 2:45:29 finish in the 2022 Berlin Marathon. His adaptability continues to define his career across multiple disciplines.
